So....... I'm engaged!!! yay!!
Nick proposed last Saturday at the top of the Flatirons in Boulder Colorado (I've posted photos of the place before: click here). To write up the whole experience would take forever, so I'll try to sum it up. We arrived late Friday night in Colorado and stayed at Nicks brothers house. Being on Central Time we woke up exceptionally early and hit the road for our hike in Boulder. After snagging a killer parking spot (thanks to Nick) we were finally on our way... up. The park was packed full of people hiking and running and walking dogs (I LOVE Colorado). On the way up we talk about how six years ago this hike was the very first hike we did as a couple, and now, six years later we are back after hiking all across the country.... together. By the time we reached the top, an hour later, we were both winded and spent several minutes just resting. After finding a spot away from the thinning traffic we started taking a series of timed photos so we could both be in the photo and have the amazing scenery behind us. After two or three photos Nick set up the camera and walked back toward me as if to make it before the timer went off and the picture was taken.... but I noticed the camera wasn't blinking. When I commented on that, Nick told me it was on video mode.....video mode?....... cue amazing speech. Cue tears. Cue proposal. Cue my response- YES! And the best part was.... it's all on film! It's been six years.... and I'm still loving every minute.
