Nick had been raving about this place for as long as I have known him. So, when we finally visited one of his favorite cities, New Orleans, he was finally able to bring me there. As their website says, "The The Original Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stand was established in 1862 in the New Orleans French Market. Its menu consists of dark roasted Coffee and Chicory, Beignets, White and Chocolate Milk, and fresh squeezed Orange Juice. The coffee is served Black or Au Lait. Au Lait means that it is mixed half and half with hot milk. Beignets are square French -style doughnuts, lavishly covered with powdered sugar." So, for a place that doesn't make much, it sure make things right. Above, I ordered the Beignets with a nice hot chocolate. Yum!
